Proteomes (ISSN 2227-7382) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal focused on all aspects of proteome analysis with a special focus on the quantification and characterization of the proteome at the level of proteoforms and the functional biological units of canonical amino acid sequences. Together with this focus on proteoform level analysis of proteomes, through identification of intact proteoforms or proteotypic peptides that define a proteoform, we also encourage articles that accurately utilise any methods (i.e., discovery and targeted) that quantify and characterise the proteome, as well as reports of new and updated methods and technologies that enhance the accurate quantification and characterisation of the proteome providing evidence of biological mechanisms, whether peptide-centric or proteoform focused. Articles emphasising a multi-/transdisciplinary (i.e., systems biology) approach combining different ‘omics’ techniques are welcomed. Our aim is to encourage researchers to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. Therefore, there is no restriction on the maximum length of regular papers.
