🌍 Pruthvi Zero Waste Foundation Creating a Zero-Waste to Landfill Future | Citizen-Driven | Tier2 & Tier 3 cities Pruthvi Zero Waste Foundation is a citizen-led, youth-driven non-profit organization founded in 2023 with a vision to create a landfill-free Earth. We work to transform the way communities understand, manage, and reduce waste by building inclusive systems that promote segregation at source, community participation, and responsible recycling. Our journey began in 2016 with cleanliness drives during the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. What started as small-scale cleanliness drives led to deeper questions: Where does this waste go? Is cleaning enough? We realized that true transformation lies not in dumping collected waste, but in educating people to reduce, segregate, and recycle it responsibly. We witnessed the devastating effects of plastic pollution firsthand — during floods, in landfills, in open fields. This sparked the launch of Plastic Jagruti Chalwal — a grassroots awareness and collection movement that laid the foundation for what would become Pruthvi. 📌 What We Do: • Conduct monthly plastic, e-waste, and thermocol collection drives in 50+ communities across Sangli, Miraj, and Kolhapur • Facilitate educational campaigns in 130+ schools and colleges, reaching over 30,000 students and 15,000 citizens • Help 800+ households transition to zero-waste-to-landfill lifestyles • Run a community Steel Cutlery Bank to eliminate disposable waste at events • Offer zero-waste consultancy and system design for events, offices, and housing societies • Collaborate with municipal corporations to implement long-term waste segregation and recycling models 🚛 Our Key Impact Metrics: • 80,000+ kg of plastic waste diverted from landfills • 10,000+ kg of e-waste collected and safely recycled • 2,00,000+ kg of carbon emissions avoided • 50 collection centers established across Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad
