PSBR is working on replacing single-use plastics in the mushroom cultivation industry with a compostable alternative. Mushrooms are grown in disposable plastic bags, and as the demand for mushrooms is growing exponentially, so is the massive amount of plastic waste. PSBR is trialling existing compostable materials and methods for plastic-free cultivation. We create 100% compostable mushroom grow kits available for use at home and for selected restaurants. For the cultivation industry, we supply compostable mushroom cultivation bags and research alternative cultivation methods. We also offer consultations on the transition to plastic-free cultivation and how to compost all the waste on-site.
