Pakistan Society of Actuaries

The PSOA was founded in 2001 with the purpose of uniting and promoting the Actuarial Profession in Pakistan. The PSOA is run solely by and for the benefit of its membership all the while striving to create more awareness of the profession in the industry and general public. PSOA is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) as a Non-Profit Organization. Our objective is to promote actuarial knowledge and research in all matters relevant to risk management and its application to advance the knowledge of actuarial science in public interest. In this regard, PSOA has been organizing numerous events (physical and virtual) since its incorporation to promote professional development and provide its members with an active engagement platform. Furthermore, the PSOA has been providing guidance on to Actuaries operating in Pakistan through various mandates as Guidance Notes and PSOA Codes of Conduct. Furthermore, PSOA has the role of assisting the Pakistani regulator (SECP) through informed and impartial professional views on various regulatory matters. The PSOA also actively engages with other professional bodies like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) on Financial Reporting or other matters involving Actuarial Expertise.
