Alliance of Kraków Universities' Student Unions

The Alliance of Kraków Universities' Student Unions is an organization established in 1993, that brings together, on a voluntary basis, student unions of 17 public and non-public universities. The Alliance represents interests of about 130,000 students, which is more than 10% of all students in Poland. Its mission is to integrate the student community, support student self-governance and improve the local study environment. The flagship project of the Alliance is Kraków Student Festival 'Juwenalia' and one of the key achievements was convincing the City Council to introduce a special semester ticket in municipal transport. For many years, the Alliance has also played an important role in electing the bodies of the Student Parliament of the Republic of Poland. The Alliance operates through democratically elected bodies: the President, the Board, the Delegates' Council and the Director of Juwenalia. The President manages the Alliance's operations and represents it before third parties, e.g. at the meetings of the College of Kraków Universities' Rectors. Current issues are discussed at the meetings of Delegates' Council, which are held once a month and are usually open to the public. The tasks, organizational structure and means of operation are defined in the Regulations.
