The project for psychedelic networking was founded in 2017 - at that time under the name “Psychedelic Salon Leipzig” - and was then renamed “Psychedelic Society Leipzig” with a view to the psychedelic societies represented worldwide. Since August 2023, the Psychedelic Society Leipzig e. V. is a registered non-profit organization. Our goal is to provide information about ways to prevent health risks associated with psychoactive substances. Our vision is to decisively shape the social discourse in the area of psychoactive substances, plants and organisms (especially psychedelics such as psilocybin, LSD, DMT). Our subject areas are based on the current, global, interdisciplinary and scientific state of knowledge. By enabling an open exchange in the spirit of accepting drug work, we promote self-determination and social participation - on the one hand, of people who want to find out about psychoactive substances and, on the other hand, of people who use drugs, without stigmatizing and criminalizing. The Psychedelic Society Leipzig is made up of actors from different social and professional milieus. We resolutely oppose extremist, racist and xenophobic efforts and reject all forms of destructive violence. We speak out against the trivialization of psychoactive substances and do not promote the use of them. The Psychedelic Society Leipzig is growing and growing and now around 50 people are involved and organized in various working groups. These include the board, the Radio AG, the PR+Event AG, the PsyCare AG and the feminist AG MagicFem*Room.
