Starting as a utility contractor for Illinois Bell Telephone Company, we have since grown and diversified into various facets of the construction industry. Through this diversification of operations, we have developed a group of knowledgeable and experienced construction experts within our company. This group of experienced personnel, combined with our large fleet of state of the art equipment, allow us to offer quality work at competitive prices.
Over the years we have earned an excellent record of accomplishment for quality, as well as safety. We are constantly involved in various projects of all sizes with the Illinois Department of Transportation, local municipalities, as well as private developers and businesses.
Ferro Asphalt owns & operates one of the area's largest State Certified Hot Mix Asphalt Plants. Our Gencor 600 UltraPlant is among the most fuel efficient, environmentally clean and lowest maintenance designs available to the Hot Mix Asphalt industry.
With a production capability of 600 tons per hour and Silo Storage capacity of 2,000 tons, Ferro Asphalt is able to provide Hot Mix Asphalt for our ongoing projects as well as serve the needs of our material purchase customers.
We have a fully equipped on site testing laboratory and Quality Control staff capable of testing and reporting our Hot Mix Asphalt Materials, as well as performing on the job density and smoothness tests.
Ferro Asphalt utilizes Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) in multiple mix designs, resulting in reduced costs, enhanced performance, and a reduced environmental impact.
We have multiple IDOT Approved Mix designs, ranging from High-Rap Binder and Base Course to Polymer Modified and Slag Mixes.
Our state of the art fleet of Pavers, Rollers, and Semi Trucks combined with an experienced, knowledgeable staff provides Ferro Asphalt with the ability to perform projects ranging from parking lots to highway resurfacing.
