About Public Policy Program at Temple University
Temple University’s Public Policy program immerses students in the processes of developing, evaluating and implementing policy, giving them the tools to affect change in their communities and beyond. Led by a faculty with years of academic and real-world experience, students are taught how to apply what they’ve learned to the world outside the classroom. Whether seeking their first internship or already working in the field, our students develop the technical and analytical skills needed to advance their careers in public service. Temple’s Public Policy program includes the Master of Public Policy degree program, as well as graduate-level certificates in Public Policy and Nonprofit Management. For undergraduate students, we offer a Public Policy minor and the 4+1 Accelerated Master of Public Policy path, which allows certain students to complete their bachelor’s and MPP in just five years. Graduate courses are offered in the evenings at Temple’s Center City Campus, just steps from Philadelphia’s City Hall. For additional scheduling flexibility, we also offer all of our graduate courses online. The Public Policy program also sponsors a variety of extracurricular events, including candidate forums, guest speakers, panel events featuring experts on policy issues and public service careers, and professional development workshops. Students and alumni of the Public Policy program are prepared for work in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors, including professional roles such as government relations manager, lobbyist/advocate, policy analyst, program evaluator, public/nonprofit manager, legislative assistant/director, and university/college administrator.
