Center for Public Intelligence (CPI)

The Center for Public Intelligence (CPI) is a research lab with the mission of creating a new system of government. We work to build complex institutions using Public AI as digital public infrastructure. At CPI, we focus on advancing the concept of Agentic Government, where governments are not only automated but capable of anticipating people's needs and personalizing public services. We develop Public AI ecosystems that integrate citizen interaction, AI agents, data interoperability, and ethical governance. Our work combines academic research, systems thinking, and applied innovation to help governments transition from siloed bureaucracies to intelligent institutions. CPI operates at the intersection of governance, complexity science, and civic technology. We collaborate with governments, universities, and regional blocs to pilot and scale AI-driven public services. Together with our partners Equality AI, we are developing the foundational tools and frameworks to ensure that the benefits of AI reach everyone.
