Public Market is a decentralized eCommerce platform that eliminates the exorbitant transaction fees imposed by today’s eCommerce marketplaces and replaces them with a blockchain-based token that rewards buyers for purchasing from the network. Our eCommerce website, database, universal catalog, and trust protocol replace all essential functions of monopoly marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, Walmart) with a decentralized alternative that is a demonstrably lower cost for all parties and requires no tradeoffs with regard to convenience or risk. Public Market's founders are all successful marketplace and eCommerce entrepreneurs, having founded Y Combinator-backed Simbi (world's largest alternative currency marketplace), Monsoon Commerce (multi-channel eCommerce sales management platform that's facilitated $4 billion in sales), and Better World Books (Amazon's largest bookseller, over $500m in sales). Combined, the founders have raised over $170m in capital from investors including Greylock, Foundation, Maveron, Vulcan, Tesla, and DBL.
