Puppet Place

Puppet Place is the artform support agency for animation and puppetry in the South West of England. We offer workshops and training to practitioners and the public alike. We run the biennial Bristol Festival of Puppetry: ten days of shows, films, animations, workshops, discussions and carnival from world-class performers and the best of local talent. Our base, in Bristol's historic harbourside, is a hub for the puppetry and animation community that we serve and a wider community of creatives including film makers, creative technologists, theatre makers and designers. Since the organisation's revival in 2008, we are rapidly becoming a key part of the vibrant performing arts ecology of Bristol and the South West, an incubator for the very best creative ideas. In all our activities we strive to expand ideas of puppetry and animation: challenging conventional thinking to keep the artforms relevant, exciting and inspirational for all.
