PURE Academy

PURE (Progressing Under Restraints and Extremes) is a residential education program that empowers underprivileged school-aged African American males through education, mentoring and athletics. Our program provides a safe and nurturing environment for male students. We operate an accredited education program and host tutoring programs that help youth enhance basic academic skills. We know education and poverty are linked. We want to give our students the resources the need to defeat generational poverty. To date, the organization has provided residential housing for 15 youth, ages 12-18. Six are college graduates who were in enrolled in universities, such as as, Notre Dame University, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and the University of Alabama. PURE students have received over 87 college scholarship offers.
