So many of us are able to explain what we do in our work. We can give our titles, the organizations we work for, even a long list of our accomplishments. However, when asked to define WHO we are in our being, what our gifts, skills, talents are, what makes us unique, and what our purpose is, we struggle mightily.
This happens because we have not given ourselves space or permission to get clear about these essential questions. We don't learn these things in school. We're not even asked or expected to do so. The world wants us to be human-doers, machine-like, unremarkable cookie cutter versions of ourselves. So, we just keep DOING without asking ourselves "Who Am I?"
And since we are human beings, isn't our being what matters most?
Knowing who you are creates the conditions that allow you to live authentically. It positions you to find the JOY in what you do. It allows you to stand out from the crowd so the world can experience your true brilliance. Who you are matters to the world, but that impact can only be felt if you discover your uniqueness and then water that seed, nurture it and allow it to grow so the world can experience your light.
