These principles aim to help countries make the most of their infrastructure investments by maximizing their economic, social, environmental, and development impact. This is crucial for achieving sustainable, resilient, and inclusive growth. The principles are based on the widely-accepted understanding that infrastructure plays a key role in driving economic prosperity.
The QII Principles are:
1. Maximizing the positive impact of infrastructure to achieve sustainable growth and development
2. Raising economic efficiency in view of life-cycle cost
3. Integrating environmental considerations into infrastructure
4. Building resilience against natural disasters
5. Integrating social considerations in infrastructure investment
6. Strengthening infrastructure governance
