Qual+ (Aalto Center for Qualitative Research)

The Department of Management Studies established the Aalto-wide Center for Qualitative Research, known as Qual+ in 2023. The broader vision is to develop Qual+ into a leading platform for methodological innovations, mixed and merged methods as well as theorizing both within Aalto University and on a global scale. Qualitative methods hold significant potential to generate paradigm-challenging solutions to major societal challenges. Qual+ acts as a shared resource for scholars interested in innovative methods, across Aalto’s departments and Schools, as well as internationally. It fosters greater collaboration and capacity building, including training and professional development, as well as offering support for competitive funding applications. Additionally, it serves as a platform for methodological innovations that respond to systemic transitions in society.
