At the Quantitative Bio-Imaging Lab (QBI), we push the boundaries of medical and biological imaging through cutting-edge research in image acquisition, processing, reconstruction, and analysis. Based at CCMAR, University of Algarve (Faro, Portugal), our work spans multiple disciplines, from cardiology and oncology to marine biology.
Our Research Focus:
🔬 Optical Imaging: Optical Projection Tomography and Lightsheet microscopy tools for imaging live developing organisms and large cleared samples.
đź«€ Cardiac MRI: Accelerated acquisition, undersampled reconstruction and motion correction techniques for free-breathing cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for diagnosing cardiovascular disease.
🤖 Artificial Intelligence: Deep learning methods for image reconstruction from accelerated scans, automated detection, segmentation and classification.
