About Queen’s BioMechatronics Team
The Queen's BioMechatronics Team (QBMeT) seeks to design lower-limb robotic exoskeleton suits to enhance the performance of first responders — firefighters, paramedics, etc. — who carry heavy loads in demanding environments. Our exoskeletons feature lightweight, articulative motors at the hip and knee joints, with an emphasis on streamlined and unobstructed movement. With three dedicated sub-teams — Structural, Power Systems, and Software — we are committed to developing innovative solutions that are functional, efficient, and tailored to the rigorous needs of those who serve on the front lines.
