About Queen's University Employment Relations Studies
Queen’s University has a long-standing commitment to teaching and research in industrial relations. Undergraduate Studies: Students learn about contemporary workplace issues and develop in-demand skills that can be applied across a number of different fields. Pair a Minor in Employment Relations with a Major in any other discipline or choose a Certificate in Employment Relations. Graduate Studies: The graduate program is a Master’s degree program designed to prepare students for a variety of outstanding career opportunities in employment relations, including careers in industrial and labour relations, human resources management, teaching, and consulting in IR/HR. Our programs attract recent graduates into the full-time MIR program, as well as career employees, with work experience into the Professional MIR Program (PMIR). Since the MIR was established in 1982, more than 1000 Queen’s MIR graduates have gone on to contribute significantly to advancing employment relations in private and public sector organizations, both in Canada and abroad.
