Quellia, a Portuguese company, aims to establish itself in the voluntary carbon market by using appropriate and reliable certification models and methodologies. Aware of the evolving carbon credit market and the development of the circular economy, we promote the use of digital technologies such as electronic databases, geographic information systems, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. These technologies help reduce costs and increase the transparency and traceability of carbon removal activities. IBM, as a global organisation, collaborates on technological efforts to assess the carbon capture and storage capacity in identified areas, such as agricultural lands and marine areas. Together, Quellia and IBM are working to conduct a global assessment based on Artificial Intelligence, aiming for significant advancements in the carbon market. Europe, starting with Portugal, will be the first region to be evaluated. By leveraging available digital technologies, including electronic databases, geographic information systems, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, as well as electronic maps, we aim to reduce the costs of establishing baselines and monitoring carbon removal activities. Above all, this enhances transparency and traceability. IBM, as part of a global organisation, has been involved in technological efforts to achieve a reliable assessment of the carbon capture and storage capacity of identified areas, including agricultural lands and marine areas.
