Coaching Definition and Objectives: As a life coach, I empower people to find their own answers, encouraging and supporting them on their quest to make important life choices. After all life coaching is about discovery, awareness and choice. Coaching is a purposeful conversation between the Coach and the clients that inspires them to step out of their comfort zones and take the initial steps toward doing what they want and being who they want to be. Coaching is a profession that is completely different from counseling, advice, consulting, or therapy. Coaching is different from counseling where sessions focus mainly on the client’s past in order to bring about understanding and healing. It is also different from mentoring or advice – the Coach’s goal is not to tell the clients what they should do or how to live their life. Coaching is about facilitating to empower the clients to identify the changes that they would like to make and then helping them through the process of achieving these goals. Coaching is about asking questions and offering a range of skills that empower the client to find the answers within themselves.
