Quikbook.com was an online hotel reservation service that offered exclusive low rates at big-city US hotels. They were a true discounter back when the web was full of rack rates and scams. Quikbook's NYC rates were UNBEATABLE from 1998-2008. The team that worked there were passionate professionals who truly cared about hospitality. Quikbook started in 1988 as a 1-800 phone number, and was one of the first entities in the WORLD to have an online booking engine for hotels. Quikbook RULED for a long time, but nice guys finish last...and big, publicly traded OTAs did not like lil' Quikbook making them look bad on rates...so Quikbook was, sadly, bullied out of existence.
