Quipu srl is a company founded in 2011 as a spinoff of the Italian National Research Council and the University of Pisa, Italy. The shareholders are researchers who have been working together for 20 years on diagnostic ultrasound.
Quipu has developed and is commercialising its first two diagnostic ultrasound software applications in the field of cardiovascular disease prevention:
1) FMD Studio, for a functional evaluation of peripheral vessels through analysis of endothelial function;
2) Carotid Studio, for assessment of carotid stiffness and intima media thickness.
With this group of measurements an integrated and precise picture of the individual vascular health can be obtained and monitored to observe evolution and changes.
Quipu is now developing new diagnostic ultrasound products in internal medicine, dentistry, pulmonology, and musculoskeletal disorders analysis. Today the company aims to industrialize its products and solutions for marketing all around the world.
Quipu is located in Pisa, at a multidisciplinary research campus with more than 1,500 scientists, one research hospital specialized in diagnostic imaging and one of the largest information technologies centers of Italy. The close collaboration with several university hospitals and research centers guarantees to Quipu an easy access to innovation and makes it easier the clinical validation of new diagnostic products.
