About Quality in Organ Donation - QUOD
The Quality in Organ Donation (QUOD) biobank is a UK-wide initiative that collects and stores biological samples—such as blood, urine, and tissue—from deceased organ donors, alongside detailed clinical data. With over 155,000 samples from more than 8,300 donors and recipients, QUOD serves as a vital resource for researchers seeking to improve organ transplantation outcomes, multi-morbidity research and chronic diseases. QUOD aims to build on this success through a transplant recipient biobank and a perfusate biobank, encompassing the entire transplant life cycle, as well as chronic long-term conditions and a range of acute injury scenarios. QUOD collaborates in existing partnerships that bring together the best teams and resources from academia and industry, both in the UK and internationally, to accelerate research and deliver better outcomes for patients. For further information on what QUOD can do and how we can aid you in your research, please visit our website www.quod.org.uk.
