R&D Nester comes from REN (Portuguese TSO) and SGCC (State Grid Corporation of China) will to synergize core competences and create an R&D centre in order to promote and implement applied research, development, demonstration and testing in an international context, innovating for a smart energy system. Our work is divided in three areas: · Research, development, innovation and demonstration in power transmission · Consulting services in the scope of R&D activities · Education and training services. We have four major research fields: · Power system simulation · Renewable energy management · Smart grid technologies · Energy markets and economics. We are commited to building an international platform of knowledge gathering prestigious Universities, international R&D institutions and industrial partners and developing a global technology network with a very rich multidisciplinary and multicultural knowhow and expertise.
