"Racines Coréennes", a French association of adoptees of Korean origin, was created in February 1995 at the same time as the Lunar New Year, which traditionally brings spring (pom) and happiness (bok) into homes! Initially, Racines Coréennes was created by a group of young French adoptees of Korean origin or interested in Korea, who wanted to bring together young adoptees of Korean origin in order to share their experiences. Racines Coréennes aims to encourage meetings and exchanges between Koreans adopted in France, and to promote socio-cultural exchanges mainly between French and Koreans, without excluding other nationalities. It is a non-profit association, without political, religious or ideological tendencies. - Racines Coréenes sat on the Conseil supérieur de l’adoption in 2002 and has sat since March 29, 2023 on the CNA – Conseil national de l’adoption which is a consultation body under the supervision of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Social Affairs which was created in 2022. We are reflecting with the French government on the past, present and future of international adoption - Racines Coréenes joined the IKAA – International Korean Adoptee Associations which was officially founded in March 2004. The IKAA is an association that brings together Korean adoptee associations around the world. The Racines Coréenes association is open to all those who wish to join.
