I help leaders evolve their leadership style for the workplace of the now and the future. Millennials and GenZ aren’t playing. If a workplace isn’t healthy and equitable, they are out. #greatresignation Many leaders are scratching their heads. “It wasn’t like this when I was coming up, I don’t even understand what they are talking about.” “I’m too scared of saying the wrong thing to say anything.” “Why can’t we all just get along. What’s wrong with them?” I believe no matter their background, leaders can improve their capacity to relate across cultural and generational differences and create healthy, safe, thriving teams. I know they can, because I have, and I am a white GenX woman named Karen. My entire career I led diverse teams in diverse organizations, reporting to women of color, making mistakes, taking accountability, evolving, and growing. Continuously learning and unlearning. Now I teach leaders what I learned: how to authentically connect across difference. We learn how we were conditioned, what we need to do to change, and practice what to say and do in various situations to improve outcomes for everybody.
