The Radiation to Electronics (R2E) project at CERN is responsible for all aspects related to radiation effects and damage on electronics components and systems in the @CERN accelerator complex.
The scope of the project can be summarized through the following point:
- Monitoring and simulation of the radiation environment in the CERN accelerator complex
- Radiation monitor development, operation and maintenance
- Radiation testing of electronic components for the various radiation tolerant developments across the CERN Accelerator and Technology sector
- Operation, maintenance and upgrade of CERN irradiation facilities, including the related user support
- Quality control and assurance of radiation tolerant developments
- Technical coordination of polymer material irradiation for CERN equipment
