About Radiopuce / MediaPros
Radiopuce was a pioneer in location-based audio advertising — creating custom in-store radio stations for retailers, long before the internet or streaming technology existed. It all began in 1994 with an old-school radio setup in a flea market: a mixer, two cassette decks, and a microphone. From there, Radiopuce grew to cover multiple flea markets and other shopping venues across the region, eventually expanding into Mobil gas stations in New York State under the name MediaPros. Our tagline said it all: “L’audience est là où vous vendez! / The audience is where you sell.” We delivered real-time music, localized announcements, and targeted audio ads — right at the point of purchase — proving that retail locations weren’t just sales spaces, but ready-made media platforms. Over time, we developed one of the earliest audio automation systems using Sony MiniDiscs to streamline daily broadcasts, and later adopted desktop software to power dynamic, scheduled playback. Radiopuce was ahead of its time, laying the groundwork for what is now known as retail media — long before the big players arrived.
