Rail Open Lab

The Rail Open Lab association is dedicated to the digital and technological acceleration for a more efficient railway sector. Its main objective is to encourage open innovation to create more efficient and sustainable railway infrastructure. The key focus areas include circular economy, employee assistance, new connectivities, and predictive maintenance. Partnership: The association aims to foster and facilitate collaboration among stakeholders in this sector. This collaboration is achieved by connecting infrastructure managers and industrial partners for the co-development of innovative solutions on short 4-month cycles, under real operating conditions. Our missions for the railway industry: - Improve the maintenance and operation of railway networks - Strive for economic optimization - Integrate circular economy and sustainable development in our projects - Innovate in a just and equitable manner. Key milestones: The Rail Open Lab was founded in 2020, succeeding the Digital Open Lab established in 2018. The entity became an association governed by French law (loi 1901) in December 2022, with FIF, RATP, SERCE, and SNCF Réseau as its founding members. Key figures: - 30 partners (large corporations, SMEs, startups, competitiveness clusters, etc.) - Over 100 regular contributors - 29 experiments completed, 7 ongoing, and 2 in preparation - 2 patents filed - 9 industrialized products.
