RAKUN was founded in 2005 as a record label, booking and production company by members of the distinguished rock band mor ve ötesi and its manager Can Sertoğlu. The label specializes in developing innovative, pioneering acts with an edge and originality.
Alongside its flagship act mor ve ötesi, Turkeys primary rock group and Eurovision 2008 participant, the label is home to Istanbul's ground-breaking indie phenomenon Sakin, whose debut album laden with poignant lyrics and fragile melodies captivated audiences; hard-edged alternative rockers Gren, whose wall-of-sound live performances and intricate guitars mesmerize viewers; and well-known media personality and wordsmith Ayça Şen, whose ingenious, dynamic songs catch listeners attention instantly.
Beside mor ve ötesi’s last five albums, including the platinum-selling classic Dünya Yalan Söylüyor, RAKUNs catalogue includes Ayça Şen’s and Gren’s debut albums, both released in 2009. RAKUN also provides management and booking services for all artists on its roster as well as engages in concert booking/promotion of other international and local acts. RAKUN has been a member of Mü-Yap (an ifpi member) since April 2008.
