Rapid Release's technology is based on Blockchain, allowing the collection and management of tax to be handled quickly and efficiently. Rapid Release removes the need for human intervention providing a no-touch system for both the vendor and government collection agency.
Tax dues are traditionally managed through customs clearance channels where by an authorized Customs Broker clears goods based on available documentation. Taxes are then applied and paid.
Changing buying patterns of consumers have created a new world of cross-border eCommerce.
This has seen an increase in the number of good entering under a country’s De Minimus rules, therefore reducing the amount of revenue collected at the border.
Our current product is targeted at the Australian market. As of July 1st, 2018 Australian legislation was amended to apply this GST (currently 10%) to all vendors selling in Australia.
Rapid Release is milestone based, allowing the vendor to pay the actual tax based on goods cost which are then held in a verified trust account. Once the parcels are cleared, taxes are remitted to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) within 24 hours. All transactions are safely and securely uploaded onto the Rapid Release Blockchain allowing for irrefutable security and indefinite transparency.
