Rastrello Hotel & EVOO

Rastrello is a historic and intimate hotel, located in the Italian medieval town of Panicale, Umbria with 7 guest rooms and 2 apartments, all with complimentary breakfast and aperitivo, overlooking Lago Trasimeno. Our kitchen and bar emphasis Umbrian products and Italian craft beers. We are a member of Design Hotels. We offer many activities to help immerse you in local culture, including opera, food, and art festivals. Our visitors can experience the olive harvest or hunting for truffles and local herbs, then learn how to make a meal from their gatherings. For the more active traveler, there are walking and biking trails directly from Panicale. We like to support Italian/local artists with a rotating art exhibit in the reception and lounge, and we sponsor artists' visits to encourage inspiration from the local landscape and culture. Panicale has been recognized as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of Italy" and is located equidistant to Rome and Florence, with a fast train from Chuisi (25 minutes from us). We are a close to many Umbrian and Tuscan towns, such as Perugia, Cortona, Orvieto, Assisi, Siena, Montepulciano, and Pienza (to name a few). We have been making extra virgin olive oil on our family farm, since 1995 and began selling it in the States when we began planning the hotel. We have won many international awards for our quality of EVOO and take great pride in what we do.
