Rays of Hope Children's Grief Centre

Rays of Hope Children’s Grief Centre is a community outreach of Hospice of Midland. We serve children 4 years to 18 years who have experienced a loss due to death, divorce, separation, incarceration, deployment, or foster care. Our goal at Rays of Hope is to provide a safe, neutral place for children to engage in the work of grief with their peers. It is our hope that children will be supported in understanding and accepting their new family unit, grow a stronger sense of self-esteem, and move towards healthy resolution of the changes that have taken place in their lives. Trained volunteers act as facilitators of the peer support groups. None of the services provided by Rays of Hope are counseling or therapy sessions, but utilize peer support group environments with compassionate adults to guide, listen and support children while they express their feelings and fears, sort through their confusion and begin the healing process. Since Rays of Hope is an outreach of Hospice Midland we do not charge for the services we provide.
