"RC4" is the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel for the 4th DCA Region. RC4 is a state agency which functions as a public law firm for indigent persons entitled to counsel in a wide array of cases, with the two main areas of practice being criminal defense and dependency.
In criminal cases, RC4 attorneys defend individuals accused of crimes who face the possibility of incarceration or imprisonment. In dependency matters, RC4 attorneys represent parents whose children may have been removed from their custody and who face the possibility of losing their parental rights. In our adversarial system of justice, RC4 strives to deliver to its court-appointed clients high quality representation through an assertive, client-centered model.
RC4 represents clients in six counties: Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee. These counties lie in three "judicial circuits" which make up the region of the jurisdiction of the 4th District Court of Appeal -- the "4" in RC4.
