The Rotary Club of Calcutta is a name that invokes a lot of pride in fostering and promoting fellowship and service. To celebrate it's 100 years of existence, the Centennial President, Mr Purnendu Roychowdhury came up with an idea to take a leap of faith.
To commemorate the Centennial Anniversary of RC Calcutta he wanted to promote a Focused action Club that inculcate fellowship and business networking amongst the professionals and at the same time keep up the spirit of service. Thus, it happened. The genesis or foundation of The Rotary Club of Calcutta Centenary was done on the 26th of September, 2019 at the Rotary Sadan, Calcutta. Blessed by the presence of Past Rotary International President Kalyan Banerjee, Past President of RC Calcutta Rtn. Vinay Nevatia, and DG's Representative PP Sanjeeb Gandhi along with Centennial President Purnendu Roychowdhury and Secretary Anasua Das the journey started and the foundation was laid for the club.
The Club formally received the Charter from RI President Mark Daniel Maloney at Rotary Sadan on 15th February 2020 during the Rotary India Centennial Summit.
