Radcliffe Choral Society Foundation

The Radcliffe Choral Society Foundation (RCSF) is comprised of alums from Harvard University and Radcliffe College who sang in the Radcliffe Choral Society (RCS), a treble/soprano-alto chorus that continues to honor and celebrate its history as a trailblazing women's chorus. All RCS alums are considered members of RCSF. RCSF is led by an enthusiastic Board of Directors that spans many generations across the US and around the world! RCSF is dedicated to supporting the activities of the current Radcliffe Choral Society, strengthening the RCS community, and honoring our shared experiences and proud traditions. RCSF preserves and advances treble, soprano-alto, and women’s choral music as a vital part of the musical canon, empowers singers to lead rich and creative lives, connects generations of singers with one another in pursuit of artistic excellence and in service to the broader community, and advances gender equity within music, higher education, and beyond. Detailed History and Activities: In 2010, the Radcliffe Choral Society Foundation, Inc. was incorporated under the laws of Massachusetts, formalizing an association of RCS alums, known as the Friends of the Radcliffe Choral Society, which had supported and mentored RCS for decades. The Foundation’s involvement with RCS includes fundraising and mentoring RCS’s student management. RCSF raises funds to provide financial support for concerts and tours, helps subsidize voice lessons for student singers, and commissions new music for treble/soprano-alto choirs. RCSF also aids spirit and friendship among RCS alums and fosters alum-student relationships by holding special events in Cambridge and around the country.
