Royal College Young Inventors Club

The Young Inventors Club of Royal College was established in 1993. It is a club formed with the primary purpose of bringing out the innovative skills and ideas hidden within the minds of young royalists. The work we carry out will eventually enable our members to invent various items that will make everything in life much easier. We carry out various projects that aid our members to make their dreams a reality. We do this by giving them the essential, basic technical knowledge and the necessary expertise along with the new trends in the field of innovation. We have carried out several successful projects that are dedicated to this purpose and also expect to this way till we manage to mould the young minds of our members to be brilliant inventors. The club had a golden era as a result of the projects done in the year 2010 and afterwards. From that onwards, royalists were more interested in inventing and making their fresh concepts a reality. RCYIC managed to hold workshops and lectures in collaboration with reputed organizations such as Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC). RCYIC members have been participating in school-level and islandwide competitions from the beginning, and also have had numerous achievements. Runners-up in all island invention competition held at Sirimavo Bandaranayake Vidyalaya, A member of the society being the "Top inventor of the year" in 2011, Finalists in Junior Inventor of the year competition in 2011, Bronze medalist in Aurora'11 (All island competition organized by Ananda College), Runners Up in the "ITN Young Inventors Club" program in 2013, are some main achievements the club have had within the past few years.
