Read and Prosper

Read and Prosper (RaP) is a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C. that exists to promote access to the world of knowledge through the use of technology. Through the distribution of e-readers, pre-loaded with a useful and relevant collection of e-books, RaP will empower our partners to raise themselves and their communities to higher levels of productivity, health and general well-being. E-readers require electricity, and many places with the largest education deficits also lack this vital resource. For that reason, RaP is also working with partners to develop small, community-based solar power systems to support e-readers and other electronic devices such as lights and mobile telephones. Together, this access to sustainable electricity generation and the vast repositories of human knowledge will accelerate human development and enhance collective prosperity.
