Reading around the world

With our Foundation Reading around the World (RATW) we want to promote the pleasure of the (printed) book in developing countries and disadvantaged regions of the world. Reading is not just important for your intellectual development. Books are also the gateway to your world of creativity and imagination. Books give you the opportunity to ‘take you away’ from the everyday worries, concerns and reality. For many children, however, a book, as well as a pen and paper, is a precious possession. In addition to a journey to imagination, a book also offers the inspiration for (intellectual) development and growth. In short, RATW believes that a book is one of the primary needs of the upgrowing child.
