Reading for Pleasure is a five-year pilot program created by the Emirates Literature Foundation, to foster a lifelong love of reading in children. It focuses on the three points of the education triangle - students, parents, and teachers, seeking to engage them with activities proven to help inspire a love of reading, and to create centers of reading excellence within select schools across the UAE.
To simultaneously measure the initiative's effectiveness, Reading For Pleasure partners with select higher education institutions - Cambridge University, UK, Zayed University, UAE University, University of Birmingham, and Higher Colleges of Technology - to carry out in-depth research over the next five years.
