RealVol

RealVol features a virtual reality (VR) based immersive walkthrough inside a CT or MRI volume. We use our own in-house renderer that optimizes dual rendering for real-time visualization in VR. We use the advanced volumetric rendering algorithms to directly convert 2D CT/MRI scan images to 3D volumes for interactive visualizations. These volumes can be visualized with depth information in special VR headsets where it is just like viewing a 3D interactive movie. A person can fly through inside a real human body, interact with it and take readings. The operator is also able to color the CT scans, through special user interfaces for better visualizations. These scans need complete graphics hardware and a laboratory to operate, but part of these 3D scans(3D images and movies) can be taken outside the lab right in the pockets and viewed on Android and iOS devices using a Rs400 cardboard headset. RealVol won the Microsoft Imagine Cup India finals 2018, Innovation Challenge at Research Showcase IIIT Delhi, qualified for finals at StartJLM competition and BIRAC Soch hackathon.
