REBOUND - Just Green Transition

REBOUND (Reconceptualizing Boundaries Together Towards Resilient and Just Arctic Future(s)) is a project funded by the JUST TRANSITION programme initiated by the Strategic Research Council (SRC) in Finland. CRC funds high-quality multidisciplinary research with anticipated high relevance and impact for the Finnish society. REBOUND is one of five funded projects under the JUST TRANSITION programme focusing on research related to societal solutions essential for advancing green transition. Of particular interest are structures and practices that support or prevent a just green transition in different sectors of society and the everyday lives of people and communities. The REBOUND project focuses on the northern parts of Finland, an area that represents the current development, changes and challenges taking place in the Arctic region. Green transition-related investments are planned and implemented in the region, but there have been few considerations related to how risks, benefits, and significant harms are perceived and distributed among the different stakeholders. REBOUND focuses on just green transition and what justice means for the different actors. The goal of REBOUND is to better understand the green transition process and to create a permanent boundary organisation to facilitate science communication between knowledge producers, knowledge users and affected stakeholders.
