Rebox enables the diversion of cardboard packaging destined for export out of Ireland for recycling for further use by SMEs – reducing costs, reducing environmental waste, and keeping resources and economic value in the Irish economy.
Reuse is often confused with recycling, but they are really quite different. Rebox focuses on reuse rather than recycling as recycling tends to lead to exporting of resources whilst reuse creates local supply chains which keep resources and economic value in the Irish economy. Rebox enables packaging reuse by providing SMEs with cardboard packaging which is no longer utilised by larger entities – reducing costs, reducing environmental waste and creating local supply-chains in the process.
Rebox purchases waste cardboard directly from multi-nationals as well as waste management companies at a higher value then can be achieved from selling it as a commodity for export and sells it to Small and Micro-Enterprise at the fraction of the cost of new cardboard packaging creating a win-win environmentally and economically.
