Recity Armenia

ReCITY is an interdisciplinary initiative driving sustainable transformation in Armenia’s small industrial towns. Our mission aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals to make cities inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. Through collaborative research and stakeholder engagement, we aim to empower communities, integrate gender-sensitive urban planning, and support innovative higher education programs. The project is a collaborative effort involving key partners such as the Territorial Studies and Development Lab (TSD Lab), the Department of Sociology at Yerevan State University (YSU), which serves as the lead and coordinating partner, the University of Vienna's Department of Geography and Regional Research, specifically the Working Group on Urban Studies, and the Journalists for Urban Development NGO (JUD). The project is funded by the OeAD APPEAR program.
