ReCollective

ReCollective are a network of collaborators and members who work together to create systemic changes around attitudes towards ‘waste’ materials. We do this by diverting material away from waste streams and towards buildings for communities. email: network@recollective.uk for enquiries Our bread and butter is designing and building community buildings alongside our network partners, using ‘waste’ material from industries (for example using timbers to build a barn for local growers using material from the film industry’s ‘waste’). This process is coined ‘anticipatory design’, where we use materials we have to form the material palette for designs. We understand that the push to change attitudes around waste involves many different factors, so we also undertake material and systems research, offer design guidance around designing with reclaimed materials, work alongside communities and push policy and sustainable design guidance.
