The downhole industry is traditionally very poor at administering preventative maintenance to its products due to the highly variable downhole environments and the varying operational practices between customers. Revenues collected for rental equipment are typically done using the honour system where financial collections based on usage are reported by the customer to the vendor, and the customer pays the amount for which the tool was used. The RECON™ products record usage time and thus provides checks and balances to ensure customers report honest and appropriate tool usage.
