60+ years of expertise in producing industrial grinders and shredders, to bring
their efficient and user-friendly horizontal grinders to the U.S. to meet the
growing demand for durable recycling equipment.
A 30-YEAR HERITAGE OF HEAVY-DUTY GRINDERS.
The Australian parent company of Redback, Van Gelder Pty. Ltd, was
founded in 1914 as a manufacturer of hammer mills for mineral processing. David Stubbs took over leadership of the company in 1987 and introduced a green waste grinder in 1991 that incorporated the company’s heavy-duty ideology and experience provided by hard rock mineral processing.
Australian hardwoods are some of the hardest woods in the world,
and Redback grinders are engineered to conquer whatever they encounter. Its
grinders are incredibly efficient and resilient and can handle contamination
and feedstock impurities with ease. Redback is built for longevity and machines manufactured 30 years ago are still running strong.

Redback grinders are offered in 785 hp (DS800T) and 1125 hp
(DS1125T) models for your grinding needs.
Utilizing powerful, American-made Caterpillar® diesel engines, Redback grinders’ finely tuned geometry between the anvil, rotor, screen, and
hammer arrangement maximizes performance and allows you to produce the highest quality product with unbeatable consistency.
