About Red Star International, Inc.
Indigenous Peoples and Nations have the inherent right to freely assert their sovereignty and political status. Red Star’s mission is to advance self-determination for the well-being of humanity and the environment. Since 2007, we have worked in partnership with Native Nations, organizations and communities to positively impact health. Today, we have three primary focus areas: Health Systems Transformation - We take a community-centered approach to holistically address the social determinants of health by providing resources to break down silos, build relationships and skills, and promote commitment to the effort. Indigenous Environmentalism - Indigenous peoples’ relational approaches are essential to re-establish the connections needed to support ecosystem resilience in the face of climate change. We seek pathways to globally connect healthy environments with healthy people. Canoe Traditions - Our traditional practices affirm our cultural identity and community connection. By promoting Polynesian canoe traditions, we promote inter-generational knowledge sharing, build leadership, and increase our understanding of and connection to the natural environment. Our communities know the way forward.
