About R.E.E.D CAPITAL GROUP LLC CDFI

Housing is a Human Right! In a society that promotes basic human needs, R.E.E.D Capital Group joins forces to support and create the most viable solutions. Who is R.E.E.D? Byron K. Reed, CEO The former Texas Capital Bank, SVP, Director, Community Development. As well as the former Vice President and Head of Community & Local Government Relations at CIT/OneWest Bank, which offered a wide range of banking products in Southern California. Under Reed’s direction, he was involved in all aspects of the Bank's community & local government relations efforts, given his vast experience with community and economic development. He also helped to identify new housing developments, assist with the rehabilitation of affordable housing, and economic development efforts, including workforce development/job creation, financial education, and core community services by partnering with key region elected officials, civic/community leaders, Faith-Based Communities, and other Not for Profit Partners. How we got started: After residing in California for 15-plus years and relocating back to Dallas it was devastating to see that not much had changed. Individuals in the South Dallas areas experienced broken promises, corruption, and a loss of faith in mankind or those in positions to make a difference by building up the community and adding value where there was a lack. Byron knew at that moment that the vision given to him by God, the time, was now. Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.” Birthing R.E.E.D. (Real Estate & Economic Development) Group, LLC. Having poured into other financial institutions for 38-plus years, Byron said “it was time to bring it HOME” literally. We believe that “housing is a basic human right”, and our purpose is to increase the opportunity for the preservation of high-quality, affordable, accessible, and attainable housing in South Dallas, targeting low and moderate-income individuals and families.
