Reefmaster

Reefmaster's mission is to protect and preserve reef organisms' gene pool. By developing an AI-based tool for aquariums, the first step is to enable even inexperienced aquarists to operate reef aquariums due to our tool. Therefore, missing knowledge can be compensated for and what already exists can be preserved. In addition, Reefmaster collects data with each system that can be used for habitat research. This approach is a new kind of citizen science, as the level of automation can eliminate inaccuracy and the great susceptibility to errors of non-scientific personnel, which allows the broad mass of data to gain validity. The unique combination of automated water analysis, supplementation of natural food, adaptation of various technical devices and visual monitoring of general vitality in reef aquacultures helps people around the world to better understand and improve their operations. The stable, near-natural, chemical-physical water parameters significantly reduce mortality events and decrease the need for wild-caught animals, directly benefiting conservation of endangered species. Additionally, it enables the permanent cultivation of animals that were previously difficult or impossible to handle (e.g. filter-feeders, such as azooxanthellate corals), protecting their survival.
